PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Set within a serene forest backdrop, this private residence blends minimalist geometry with natural materials to create a bold yet grounded presence. The design features clean concrete forms, expansive glass façades for immersive indoor-outdoor connection, and warm wooden accents that soften the strong architectural lines. A dramatic angled roofline and an open terrace with slatted sun shading define the upper volume, offering a sculptural touch while maximizing natural light. This home is a refined balance of raw materiality and modern comfort, perfectly integrated with its lush surroundings.

PROJECT AREA DESCRIPTION

This project is a thoughtful reconstruction of a former one-story dwelling, reimagined into a contemporary two-story residence that honors its natural context. Nestled within a mature forested environment, the site presented a unique opportunity to build with sensitivity to the existing vegetation and topography. The architectural response preserves much of the original footprint while elevating the spatial experience vertically and programmatically.

The landscape design embraces a restrained and naturalistic approach, allowing the surrounding trees to frame and soften the bold geometry of the new structure. Native grasses and low-maintenance ground cover line the curved stone-paved pathways, integrating circulation with the landscape organically.

Existing trees were preserved to the greatest extent, serving as natural shading and visual buffers, while the new structure opens outward with large glazed surfaces to invite light and forest views deep into the living spaces. The material palette—concrete, timber, and glass—was selected to age gracefully and respond harmoniously to the wooded setting, reinforcing the dialogue between built and natural environments.
